Move Your Fish to Your New Home!
Any person will feel stress during the moving process, even with the assistance of a moving expert. As if moving wasn’t already complicated enough with everything you have to consider, adding pets to the mix can make it feel like there’s no way to get started. More careful planning and preparation are needed to transport animals that aren’t cats or dogs. Read this first if you want to move a fish or other aquatic pet.
Moving the Fish Tank
Moving a fish tank requires more than just turning off the power and crossing your fingers that the water stays put. Moving fish tanks is no easy task, and to avoid any accidents on a moving day, you should plan to remove your fish from its tank. A net, multiple large buckets, bubble wrap, packing papers, and so on may be required, depending on your fish type.
Moving the Fishes
It would be best to take precautions when physically moving your fish to make the transition as easy as possible. It would be best to stop feeding your fish a few days before moving day to ensure they have passed all of their waste. Fish of a smaller size can be safely transported in plastic bags filled with tank water (with proper aeration) or in an airtight container, case, or bucket. While packing and moving, you should use the buckets you have. Fish should never be stored in plastic bags or airtight containers for extended periods.
